Are We Professional Stylists or Pet Groomers?
I’m not sure what is happening in our industry but this one leaves me wondering!!!!!!
Can you believe that some of your product companies are making shampoos
for your pets and they want you to sell it in your salon? Don’t we have
enough challenges with our image and our professionalism without lowering
ourselves to supplying somebody’s pet with products? At Coastline, we are
dedicated to providing you and “your clients”, (who are not dogs) with education
and products that they can’t get anywhere but at a salon and most likely,
YOUR SALON.
You know, it seems a bit crazy to me that these companies use us to promote,
sell and really get their stuff out there and then, I walk through CVS
and I see all of our hard work is really paying off……... for them! Now,
they want us to stock, sell and promote stuff for dogs!! Sorry, I don’t
get why any salon owner or stylist would do such a thing. I like dogs
as much as the next person but I say leave the pet grooming to the groomers
and the pet products to the pet stores!
Be who you are and promote yourself, your products and your salon in
a way that makes you proud. When we talk to our clients about healthy,
shiny and soft beautiful hair, let’s make it theirs not their dogs.
